Product Description

Blueberry and licorice fruit, with hints of anise and white spice.

TECHNICAL NOTES
Awards: 92 Points – James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2007 Edition; Bronze medals, Royal Sydney, Perth and Queensland.
Region: 100% Five Ashes Vineyard, Margaret River.
Colour: Pink red hue surrounding a dense red centre.
Bouquet: The nose opens precisely with blueberry fruit and licorice, with hints of anise and white spice.
Palate: The palate is beautifully elegant with fleshy medium weight and a long length of flavour. It is cuurently still looking very youthful. Fine dry tannins to finish make this the best Hamelin Bay Shiraz to date. Optimum drinking now but will continue to mature gracefully for many years.

Vinification: Stainless steel static fermenters.
Cellaring Potential: Suggested best 2006 to 2009; Suggested Maximum 2015.
Oak Treatment: 30% new French barriques, 10% new American barriques, 60% one year old barriques for an average of 17 months.
Serving Suggestion: Enjoy with strong meat dishes such as braised ostrich wing.
