Product Description

Plum, red berry fruits meld with mint chocolate and a faint hint of violets on a bed of freshly turned earth and peat. Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot (65%,35%).

Awards: Siver Mt Barker, Bronze Margaret River; 4 stars, 90 points James Halliday Australian Wine Companion 2006 Edition.
Region: 100% Five Ashes Vineyard, Margert River.
Colour: Has a deep red centre of medium to heavy intensity with a pink red hue.
Bouquet: Plum, red berry fruits meld with mint chocolate and a faint hint of violets on a bed of freshly turned earth and peat.
Palate: The palate is medium in weight and length. A juicy front / mid palate leads to dry fine tannins giving a tight knit impression to the wine. Over time this wine should evlove and soften expressing the power of the Five Ashes cabernet and softness of the Five Ashes merlot.

Vintage Characteristics: Mild dry vintage.
Vinification: Fermented in stainless steel static fermenters and left on skins 5 to 10 days post fermentation.
Cellaring Potential: Suggested Best 2003 to 2008;
Oak Treatment: 15 months maturation in French oak, 30% new French, 10% new American, 30% one year old French, 30% older French.
Serving Suggestion: Enjoy with penne with veal ragout or other rich tomato pasta dishes.
